Madhya Pradesh police have have asked matrimonial agencies and familes to seek verification of grooms and brides before fixing he marriage.

At least four cases of fake brides have surfaced in the last one month. They have allegedly stolen the money and jewellery among other things of seventeen families altogether, after getting married to the men.

The police have found that in most of these cases the husbands of the women pose as a relative of ‘the bride’ and fix her marriage. They choose mostly aged men, for whom it is difficult to get matches easily.

Government employees and people with hereditary business and wealth are also preferred by them. They get in touch with them through these matrimonial websites and earn their trust.

After some investigation, it has been found out that these fake parties of marriage ask for around 50,000 to 2,00,000 rupees from the groom’s family saying they don’t have enough money.

The marriage takes place in a temple where very few members of the bride’s family are present. After the marriage, the bride maintains her distance from the groom and gets all the information about where all the money is kept. And then when she gets an opportunity, she runs away with all of it.

Also, these fraud groups don’t stay in one place for a long time and keep changing their identities as well.

Naidunia.jagran.com lists a few cheating cases that have occurred recently:
