Car splits into two after students ram it into tree - 4 killed in horror accident in Ludhiana (graphic video)
Four students, including two girls, died in a road accident around 2 pm on Friday
They had gone for a drive in a white Honda City car which hit an eucalyptus tree about 12 km from Ludhiana.
The car, which was running at 100 kmph split on impact with the tree. Blood, flesh and car debris were splattered in the area giving it a ghastly look.
One of the students Akshit Grover, 21, survived the accident and has been admitted to a hospital where he is said to be critical.
The deceased have been identified as Sanyam Arora, 20, Gaurish Verma, 21, Rishika Bassi, 19, and Ishani Jindal, 19,
They were studying in different colleges of Ludhiana, Mandi Gobindgarh and Delhi and had gone out to celebrate in the new car that Gaurish Verma, a BTech third-year student, had purchased.
The Times of India quoted eyewitnesses, who said the youth bought beer from a liquor shop near Birmi bridge of Sidhwan Canal and danced there drinking it.
As a few local residents objected to it, they left the spot and drove away.
The Tribune reports that the youth had uploaded a video to Snapchat just before the accident.
A friend of the victims showed the video to the police helping them to identify them.
