He has not taken bath for 24 years - Meet Sakaldev Tuddu from Munger in Bihar (video)
Amou Haji, a man from a remote village in Iran, had become famous a few years ago when it was reported that he had not taken bath for 60 years.
A similar story has surfaced from Bihar of a man who has reportdely not taken bath for 24 years but is still tech savvy enough to use Whats App.
According to a report on Jagaran.com, Sakaldev Tuddu, from Bihar’s Munger district, hasn’t taken a bath for over 24 years now.
The man who is 54 years, does all his daily chores except taking his bath.
He also hasn’t cut his hair for around the same time and the hair on his head is all tangled, because of which people considered him to be a follower of God Shiva who also has long knotted hair.
Sakaldev Tuddu’s dreadlocks now measure 5 feet 3 inches long.
He however his quite tech-savvy and enjoys chatting over the internet.
When Sakaldev Tuddu was 22, for some health reasons, he had not been able to cut his hair for around a year. During this period, knots had started forming in his hair which resulted in people seeing him as a devotee of Shiva.
Deferring to the sentiments of the people, he reportedly stopped cutting his hair since then. Initially, he used to sometimes take a bath, but then it would get difficult to manage his hair after that.
So, he completely stopped taking his bath.
Although some people see him as a divine person, he feels he is just an ordinary human being.
He says that whenever someone falls sick, they come to take his blessings. He advises them and blesses them. He has stopped eating meat now and is a completely vegetarian.
To sustain his livelihood, he does a normal job like everyone else.
The Iranian, Amou Haji, who is over 80, hasn’t taken a bath for around 60 years for a different reason. He feels that if he takes a bath, he will get sick.
He says that he had gone through a few setbacks when he was younger and since then , he had become a little different.
At night, he sleeps in a hole on the ground or the brick shack that the locals had made for him. He also says that, in his village, Dejgah, a few men had once tried to bathe him, but then he managed to escape.
He prefers rotten meat over clean food and drinks water from dirty oil can.
However, he often uses the mirror to groom himself and when he feels that his hair has grown too long, he burns them in fire. He is always dressed in rags and a helmet in winters.
The earlier record held by a man for not taking a bath for the longest time was Kailash Singh from India, who was 66 years old and hadn’t taken a bath in over 38 years.
