Angry Kerala wife files false police complaint that husband is ISIS terrorist
A 25-year-old man, arrested on suspected Islamic State (ISIS) links based on the complaint filed by his wife, has been found not guilty of any such dalliances.
Ahlad, aka, Imran is a native of Uttar Pradesh. He married a Thrikkarippa native about eight months back. However, he abandoned his wife soon after marriage.
The woman went looking for him and found him in a lodge at Aluva in Kochi. She confronted him, and an argument broke out. It turned violent when Ahlad beat up his wife.
In a fit of rage, she went to the police and implicated him of being linked to the dreaded terror front. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Since radicalization of young Muslims by ISIS has been an ominous threat for a while, the police swung into action immediately.
After the fight with his wife, Ahlad had left for Uttar Pradesh, further deepening suspicions. Police picked him up from Musafir Nagar Railway station.
However, hours of interrogation conclusively proved that he had nothing to do with the terror outfit, reports the Deccan Chronicle.
Nonetheless, Ahlad has been booked under sections 341, 294(B), 506 and 327 for assaulting the woman during the altercation a few days ago.
