Anupam Kher had said throw Yogi Adityanath out of BJP for speaking nonsense – just 10 months ago (video)
A year is a long time in politics.
India’s largest state UP’s chief minister-designate Yogi Adityanath was seen as a fringe element just 10 months ago. Even by those, who feverishly supported BJP and everything it had stood for.
Defending the party at the height of the intolerance controversy, Anupam Kher had hit out at Yogi Adityanath and Sadhvi Prachi identifying them as fringe elements.
Because of them, you cannot call the entire country intolerant, he had said.
Speaking at the Telegraph Annual Debate, Kher said: "There are some people in BJP who speak nonsense, whether it is Sadhvi or Yogi...they should be put behind bars, thrown out of the party.”
He had further attacked Congress saying it also had leaders like Digvijaya Singh, who said awful things.
“I am not defending those who speak nonsense," Kher had said.
While Digvijaya Singh had kept quiet, Yogi Adityanath had retaliated and called Kher a ‘real life villain’.
A had told a daily that Kher was not only a reel but also a real life villain.
“I don't want to say anything more on his statement made in Kolkata,” he had said.
