Delhi Journalism student faces threat for anti-BJP post on Facebook
A journalism student, Sushmita Sinha, who is studying in Delhi, has allegedly received death threats for making posts critical of BJP on social media.
She has also said that after she wrote about the threat, Facebook removed the post saying it was in violation of community standards.
Sushmita, who is from Patna, has done her internship with Doordarshan and is preparing for entrance exams of different PG and Diploma courses.
Sushmita has been writing about politics on Facebook, and in many of them disagreeing, with BJP.
Sushmita told Jansatta that on the day of Uttar Pradesh election results, a party follower, Anish Jha called her up and started shouting at her for disrespecting the party.
Sushmita said she had known Anish for around 4 years and used to chat with him once in a while on social media.
He followed her posts closely and would often disagree on what she wrote. She had blocked him on Facebook and also had to put his number on black list.
Anish called her up from a different number and had continuously abused her on the phone.
He even threatened that he would come to Delhi in May and would make sure that she and a Muslim friend of hers would be killed.
Sushmita recorded his abuse and posted it on soundcloud.
She has now lodged a complaint with the Delhi Mahila Aayog and has requested them to take action against the man.
