After heated argument, cop’s wife kills herself with service revolver
A mother of two young children shot herself with her husband’s service revolver right in front of her five year old daughter in a blind fit of fury.
Thirty eight year old Geeta Chandresh Nayak had suspected her forty year old husband of cheating on their marriage with a woman from Rajkot, and her doubts had put her on the edge.
On Thursday around 11 am, Geeta called her husband Sub-Inspector Chandresh Nayak from their rented house at Vishwakarma Society in Himmatnagar in Ahmedabad.
After heated argument, cop’s wife kills herself with service revolver The conversation quickly descended into an argument when Geeta again accused her husband of infidelity.
Chandresh asked the phone to be passed on to their daughter, whom he asked to stay with ‘Mummy’ till he returns.
The child informed him that ‘Mummy’ had already shot herself.
The sub-inspector rushed home to find his wife in a pool of blood in bed, with a bullet wound on her right temple – she was already dead.
Himmatnagar A Division Police reached the site and began a joint probe with FSL, reports Ahmedabad Mirror.
Geeta’s brother Jawaharji Banzara, a distant relative of the infamous DGP Vanzara, has filed a complaint accusing Chandresh of physical and mental torture. According to him, Chandresh told his sister to give a divorce or kill herself multiple times.
A case of negligence has also been lodged against the sub inspector for not keeping his service revolver under lock and key, as are the rules.
