Supreet Kaur, a brave TV anchor in Chattisgarh, announced the news of her husband’s death on live TV on Saturday.
She bore her immense personal tragedy with steel and maintained her composure throughout.
It was only after her news programme ended, she walked out and broke down.
Supreet Kaur, who is an anchor at IBC-24, a popular channel in the state, had been married for just a year.
The Hindustan Times reports that when she was presenting a live morning programme, a reporter phoned with breaking news of a fatal accident involving a Renault Duster at Pithara in Mahasamund district.
Supreet Kaur knew instantly that something was amiss as her husband Harsad Kawade had left by a Renault Duster on the same route with four companions.
The reporter said three of the five people travelling in the vehicle were dead, but did not identify the deceased.
Her colleagues reportedly knew that Harsad Kawade had died but did not have the courage to tell her.
Supreet Kaur carried on with the programme earning praise from her colleagues for her exceptional commitment to work.
Supreet Kaur and Harsad Kawade had married just a year ago and the couple lived in Raipur.
