M P Ramachandran is not happy anymore with his resemblance to PM Modi and the attention it brings.

Modi’s doppleganger shot into fame last week when he was photographed at the railway station of his hometown Payyanur in Kerala.

The photo showed him checking his phone looking very much like Modi preparing to take a selfie.

Ramachandran, a Gulf returnee, was on his way to visit his son, who works in Bangalore.

The photo went viral and then took a controversial turn when AIB added Snapchat’s dog filters to it kicking up online protests, which culminated in a Mumbai Police lodging an FIR against it.

Ramachandran told The Hindustan Times that he was planning to shave off his beard as people were misusing his picture.

“This has been happening for a while,” he said.

Ramachandran is an ardent fan of Modi, who he says is an able administrator.

MP Ramachandran says he frequently gets stopped by strangers who request to take selfies with him.

Two years ago, he says, even army personnel mobbed him to take selfies when he was waiting for a train to Jammu.

The commotion even delayed the train’s departure by 20 minutes, he recalls.
