Ethiopian plane slices through Air India plane’s wing in Delhi - none hurt, probe ordered

An Ethiopian aeroplane’s wing collided with an Air India aeroplane’s wing at the IGI Airport in Delhi on Tuesday night.  Images of the collision has emerged and the damage looks pretty bad for both the airlines.   According to India Today, the Ethiopian plane was moving along the runway when it hit the other immobile plane, which was empty.

An Ethiopian aeroplane’s wing collided with an Air India aeroplane’s wing at the IGI Airport in Delhi on Tuesday night.

Images of the collision has emerged and the damage looks pretty bad for both the airlines.

According to India Today, the Ethiopian plane was moving along the runway when it hit the other immobile plane, which was empty.

Fortunately, no one was harmed and passengers were moved from the plane immediately. 

The Ethiopian Airline has claimed that the pilot was misguided by the airport authorities which resulted in the accident.

Though no official announcement was made, sources said Air India plans to seek damages from the airline. Some employees also said that it was the Ethiopian Airline’s fault and that Air India was not in the wrong at all. 

The DGCA has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
