Sumo wrestling competition gets over in an instant – ends just as it begins (video)

Sumo wrestling is usually a single-round event and often lasts only a few seconds.   But the bout you are going to watch below is a record-setting quickie.   The larger rikishi (wrestler) knocks out his opponent with just one blow. The poor man goes down, tries to recover but is pulled down by gravity again.

But the bout you are going to watch below is a record-setting quickie. 

The larger rikishi (wrestler) knocks out his opponent with just one blow. The poor man goes down, tries to recover but is pulled down by gravity again. 

Much of the screen-time in the short video is taken up by the ancient ritualistic moves which are meticulously observed. 

But the actual grapple comes as an anti-climax, though the audience cheer the skill and power of the winner.
