In the final race of his illustrious career, Usain Bolt was beaten by Justin Gatlin.

Bolt who opted to retire at 30 was beaten by his American rival, who at 35, is five years older than him.

The race saw a tight finish and Bolt was punished for his slow start. Gatlin edged ahead to finsh in 9.92 seconds. Christian Coleman ran second in 9.94 seconds while Bolt clocked 9.95 to come third.

Gatlin let out a roar to celebarte his victory and then put a finger in front of his mouth to silence the crowd, which continued to boo the dope-tainted athlete.

But he acknowledged Bolt's stature  and bowed in admiration in front of him, despite the two men never being friends.
